Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
ME And I is a personal AI journal that reflects your writing back to you over time — your mirror, not your coach. These Terms are the agreement between you and ME And I for using the app and website (the “Service”).
You keep ownership of your journal. We process your content only to run the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. The Service is not therapy, medical care, or emergency support. AI outputs are observational reflections, not professional advice.
1. Agreement to these Terms
By creating an account, checking the box on the welcome screen, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
ME And I is the operator of the Service. We have not yet formed a separate legal entity; when we do, these Terms will be between you and that entity and we will update this page with its legal name.
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. For material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect where required by law. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the current version. Continued use after the effective date of an update means you accept the revised Terms, except where your local law requires explicit consent for specific changes.
Questions about these Terms: support@me-and-i.app
2. Who we are and what the Service includes
ME And I (“we”, “us”) provides a personal journaling and reflection
product. Depending on what is enabled in your version of the Service, features may include
writing and saving journal entries (including voice capture transcribed to text), per-entry
Reflections, Talk to ME conversations, Letters to Future Self, Mirror Reports, mood-related
signals, semantic recall across your own entries, optional life-context memory, export, and
account settings. The marketing website at me-and-i.app and the journal app at
app.me-and-i.app (and staging or preview URLs we use for testing) are part of
the Service.
We may add, change, or remove features over time. During the soft launch, some features or sign-in methods may be limited or labeled as coming soon.
3. What ME And I is and is not
ME And I is a journaling tool with AI-assisted reflection. It is designed to mirror patterns in your own words back to you over time. It is not:
- therapy, counseling, or mental-health treatment;
- medical, psychiatric, or clinical care;
- a medical device or diagnostic tool;
- legal, financial, or other professional advice;
- crisis intervention or an emergency service; or
- a substitute for care from a qualified professional.
AI-generated Reflections, Talk replies, Mirror Reports, mood labels, and similar outputs are produced automatically from your content. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, emotionally imperfect, or unsuitable for your situation. You remain solely responsible for decisions you make and actions you take. Do not rely on the Service as a source of professional guidance.
If you may be in immediate danger or crisis, contact local emergency services or a crisis hotline. The Service may show support resources in some situations, but we do not guarantee that those resources are available, current, or appropriate for you (see Section 8).
4. Eligibility and your account
Age. You must be at least 18 years old (or the minimum age required in your country to enter into a binding agreement and use an online service like this, if higher). By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. See our Privacy Policy Section 15.
Registration. You sign in with email and a one-time code sent to that address, or with third-party sign-in (Google, Apple, or Microsoft) when we enable it. You must provide accurate contact information and keep access to your email or sign-in method secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account unless you notify us promptly of unauthorized access at support@me-and-i.app.
One person, one account. Do not share account credentials or create accounts on behalf of others without permission. Do not impersonate another person.
5. Your content and license to us
Your ownership. You retain ownership of journal entries and other content you create in the Service (“Your Content”), subject to the license below and our rights to operate the Service.
License to operate the Service. You grant ME And I a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, and display Your Content only as needed to provide, maintain, secure, and personalize the Service for you — including generating Reflections, Talk replies, Mirror Reports, exports, mood-related signals, semantic indexes, optional life-context features, backups, and safety processing described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use Your Content for third-party advertising or to train our own models on your entries.
Immutability after save. Saved entries are designed to be immutable after you save them: you cannot edit the saved text in place. You may delete entries or export your data from Settings. Draft text before save may be edited or discarded.
Your responsibilities. You are responsible for Your Content and for having the rights needed to submit it. Do not submit content you do not have permission to use, or content that violates these Terms or applicable law.
6. AI features and third-party AI providers
AI features run on our servers (Supabase Edge Functions), not in your browser with exposed provider keys. When you request an AI feature, relevant portions of Your Content may be sent to our AI inference providers via API solely to generate that feature for you, as described in Privacy Policy Sections 5 and 10.
We use provider API products under terms that do not allow them to use your API inputs or outputs to train their models by default. We do not opt in to provider model training using your journal content.
AI output is provided “as generated” without warranty. We do not guarantee that Reflections, Talk replies, Mirror Reports, mood labels, or recall results will be correct, complete, unbiased, or appropriate. You should treat them as prompts for your own reflection, not as facts or instructions.
7. Voice, imports, and device copies
Voice recordings and imported files are processed in memory to produce text. The original audio or file is not stored in your account; only the text you choose to keep is saved (Privacy Policy Section 7).
For offline use, the Service may cache data on your device (for example IndexedDB). Those local copies are not encrypted on the device. Anyone with access to your unlocked device or browser profile could read them. Signing out clears the local cache on that device (Privacy Policy Section 8).
8. Crisis resources and safety
The Service may detect language that suggests you may be in crisis and show links to third-party support resources. Those resources are provided for convenience; we do not operate them and do not guarantee their availability, accuracy, or suitability. Crisis-related processing is described in Privacy Policy Section 6.
We may store metadata about safety-related events (without storing the full text of flagged messages) to improve safety systems. We do not use crisis metadata for advertising.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- harass, threaten, or harm others, or encourage others to do so;
- attempt to access another user’s account or data, bypass security, or probe or scan our systems without authorization;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, crawl, or overload the Service, except where applicable law expressly permits this despite a contractual prohibition;
- upload malware or interfere with the Service’s operation;
- misrepresent AI output as professional medical, mental-health, legal, or emergency advice, or as human-written communication from ME And I staff;
- use the Service to develop competing products by systematically extracting outputs or underlying models; or
- use automated means to create accounts or send traffic except through interfaces we explicitly provide.
We may investigate violations and suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe violate these Terms or pose a risk to the Service, other users, or third parties.
10. Advertising and marketing
ME And I does not show third-party advertising in the journal app and does not use Your Content for advertising or marketing profiling (Privacy Policy Section 4). We may run our own marketing on other platforms that link to our website; those campaigns do not receive your journal content.
11. Soft launch, subscriptions, and payments
Soft launch. During the soft launch, core journaling features may be offered free of charge. We may introduce paid plans, subscriptions, or in-app purchases later through app stores and/or our website.
During the soft launch, the Service may contain bugs, incomplete features, inaccurate AI behavior, temporary limitations, or features that change before general release. You use soft-launch features with the understanding that they may change before we announce general availability.
Future paid plans. When paid plans are offered, pricing, billing period, renewal, cancellation, and refund rules will be shown at purchase and may be processed by third parties such as Apple, Google, or RevenueCat (Privacy Policy Section 10). Paid features will not charge you until you confirm a purchase. We will update these Terms and notify you before paid plans take effect where required.
Taxes and app stores. App store purchases are also subject to the store provider’s terms. You are responsible for applicable taxes unless stated otherwise at checkout.
Apple App Store. If you download or use the Service through the Apple App Store, Apple’s standard end-user license terms for licensed applications also apply in addition to these Terms. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of those Apple terms as described in Apple’s App Store terms. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content.
12. Privacy, analytics, and diagnostics
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and retain information — including optional PostHog product analytics (with regional defaults and opt-out in Settings), Sentry error reports designed not to include journal text, export, deletion, subprocessors, and your privacy rights.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy. Where the Privacy Policy and these Terms conflict on data handling, the Privacy Policy controls for privacy matters.
13. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, wordmark, and documentation (excluding Your Content), is owned by ME And I or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your private journaling in accordance with these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service or our branding except as allowed by law or with our written permission. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the Service without obligation to you.
14. Service availability and changes
We strive to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, outages, third-party provider failures, and force majeure events may cause interruptions. AI features depend on external providers and may fail or degrade independently of other features (for example, voice transcription may fail while text journaling still works).
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. If we discontinue the Service materially, we will use reasonable efforts to give you advance notice and a way to export Your Content where feasible.
15. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that AI outputs will be accurate, that the Service will meet your expectations, or that defects will be corrected. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimer limitations; in those jurisdictions, our disclaimers apply to the maximum extent permitted.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ME And I and our suppliers, subprocessors, and personnel will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the Service — including reliance on AI outputs or crisis resources.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in that period, or (b) fifty US dollars (USD $50).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under mandatory consumer protection law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation where applicable law prohibits exclusion.
17. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless ME And I from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or Your Content that infringes another party’s rights or violates law — except to the extent a claim results from our breach of these Terms or our negligence.
18. Termination and suspension
By you. You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account in Settings; deletion is described in Privacy Policy Section 11.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms, if we must do so to comply with law, or if we discontinue the Service. Where reasonable and lawful, we will give you notice and an opportunity to export Your Content before termination.
Effect. Sections that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, and governing law) survive termination.
19. Additional terms for EEA and UK consumers
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence apply and are not replaced by these Terms. You may have statutory rights to withdraw from a distance contract where applicable law provides them. For paid digital services, EU/UK law may give you a 14-day withdrawal right unless you expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that you lose that right once the service begins; when we offer paid plans, we will show that acknowledgment at checkout before you are charged.
For privacy rights and legal bases for processing, see Privacy Policy Section 13. For questions or complaints, contact support@me-and-i.app. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
20. Additional terms for US users
If you are a resident of the United States, Privacy Policy Section 14 describes how we handle personal information under state privacy laws, including that we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Export and deletion are available in Settings.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service that is not resolved informally may be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in another forum.
21. General
Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and ME And I regarding the Service, except for any separate written agreement we sign with you.
Severability. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where required by law.
Governing law. Except where mandatory local consumer law requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where ME And I is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
